RAJKOT: The Saurashtra University administration has claimed to have revealed a scam in its department of Homeopathy. A probe committee formed to look into the issue has found participation of nearly 41 students, a dean of the department and three colleges of Amreli and Rajkot.
The S.U.administration has decided to file an FIR against those found guilty in its internal matter or probe. According to reports, Dr. Amitabh Joshi, the Homeopathy department's dean in S.U. and Rajkot’s BA Dangar college principal was suspectively involved in this scam with no ground evidence. Dr. Nehal Shukla, the probe committee coordinator and a syndicate member of S.U., said: “Some of the students told that Dr. Joshi took between Rs 3.50 to 7 lakh donation for their admission in S.U. on the basis of duplicate mark sheets and other documents.”
"The students who could not take admission in the S.U. after senior secondary exams then prepared duplicate mark sheets of the first year results of other universities. They then get themselves transferred to the S.U. and taken admission in the second year course," said Shukla.
Principals of B.G Garaiya Homeopathy College, Rajkot’s B A Dangar College, and Amreli Homeopathy College were claimed (no proof) for preparing fake mark sheets for such students, she added.
